September always brings that crisp shift in the air, a sense of fresh starts, and the inevitable return to routine.

We always love preparing our wine family for what may be just around the corner. So this August, we decided that we would take you through a curriculum of wines that rebel against the norm before school gets back in session.

Welcome to this month’s release: Too Cool For School.

While Pinot Noir and Chardonnay might be the head class presidents of Oregon wine, our state’s winemaking landscape is full of brilliant renegades, lesser-known grapes, and boundary-pushing techniques that sit firmly at the back of the class making cool art.

This month, we’re taking you off the beaten path to explore Oregon’s hidden gems. From ancient, uncommon grape varieties thriving in unexpected microclimates to winemakers reviving ancestral methods - like extended macerations, native fermentations, and concrete egg aging—these bottles prove that rules were meant to be bent (if not completely rewritten).

Some wines play by the textbook. These aren't those wines.

So skip the syllabus, grab a glass, and taste what happens when winemakers let their curiosity run wild. Class is officially in session.
